A new website for Penzion Berry, a mountain log cabin with a restaurant in the Šumava. It presents the rooms, tiny houses, restaurant and weddings and offers guests available dates straight away.

Challenge

A mountain log cabin with rooms, tiny houses, a restaurant and weddings needed a website that presents all of it clearly, in three languages, and shows guests available dates right away.

The guesthouse has four rooms in the log cabin, two tiny houses in the forest and a restaurant with a terrace. The website guides guests from choosing accommodation to booking, shows the restaurant’s weekly menu and news, and is built on photos of the cabin and its interior. The menu flips like a book, the weekly menu looks like a paper card on a table, and a page about the Šumava suggests where to go on trips.

Solution

  • A new website in Czech, German and English.
  • An availability search connected to the booking system.
  • Pages for the rooms, tiny houses, restaurant, weddings and trips around the Šumava.
  • An admin where the operator edits the content.

The work

  • The “What we’re cooking this week” section: the weekly menu as a paper card with the Berry logo on a dark background, soups and main courses by day with prices
  • The menu opened like a book: a greeting and opening hours on the left, soup and main courses with prices on the right
  • The guest reviews section: a rating of 4.9 from over 280 Google reviews and cards with guest quotes
  • The rooms section: the Ostrý 1 room with a photo, description, amenities and buttons to book the room or ask by phone
  • The Šumava page, nearby trips section: Úhlavský luh and the Křížkov pilgrimage site with a photo, starting point, route length and difficulty
  • The “Follow what’s happening here” section: Instagram posts as photos hung with pegs on a line
  • Three phones with the mobile website: the full-screen menu, a calendar with 6–8 November selected, and the weekly menu
  • The contact page: phone numbers for the accommodation and restaurant, e-mail, address and Instagram next to a photo of a man with a bucket of blueberries

Result

  1. Guests find a free date directly on the website.

  2. The operator edits the website content without waiting for a developer.

  3. The restaurant has a menu that flips like a book and the weekly menu in one place.
